    Auckland Airport's celebrating 60 years since opening

    Almost half a billion travellers have passed through the airport since 1966.

    CEO Carrie Hurihanganui says they had 700-thousand passengers across the first year of operation - and a handful of airlines.

    She says the growth's clear today - with 27 airlines and 19-million passengers last year.
