The average Auckland ratepayer will be paying an average of 320 dollars more a year, if the council's annual plan passes

The 2026/2027 annual plan has been sent out for consultation.
It matches the 7.9 percent increase signalled in the council's ten year plan.
The increase in rates is mainly due the 235 million dollar annual cost to run and own the council's share of the City Rail Link.
Business rates will increase by an average of 9.8 percent or by more than 2 thousand dollars annually.
