Police believe a group was behind a smash and grab at an Auckland mall overnight

Police believe a group was behind a smash and grab at an Auckland mall overnight

They say tools were used to smash windows at St Luke's, where the thieves made off with electronics.

A police spokesperson says they were notified just before 2am.

The group left in two vehicles - one of which was stolen and found near Mount Albert School.

A young person from that vehicle was arrested nearby.

The second vehicle has not been found and inquiries are ongoing.
