    An Auckland National MP wants to be able to assure his electorate amid gang violence


    Twelve people thought to be gang affiliated are in custody after an incident believed to involve firearms in Pakuranga last night.

    It follows a spate of shootings in Auckland over the past few weeks.

    Pakuranga MP Simeon Brown says he's holding a public meeting with local police on Sunday week - June 13.

    He wants the community to have face to face access to the police to voice their concerns.
