A homicide investigation is underway after a man died following a street fight in South Auckland

Police were called to Wymondley Road in Otara, just before midnight to reports of a fight between a group of people.

Two men were taken to hospital with critical injuries - one of them later died.

The other man remains in hospital in a serious condition.

Detective Senior Sergeant Simon Taylor says they'd like to speak to witnesses or anyone who has information, as they work out what's happened.

He says they're also looking to find those involved.
