    A person's died and another's in a critical condition following a house fire in Canterbury


    Firefighters were called to the well involved blaze on Dunford Street in Rakaia, just after 11 last night.

    Crews from Rakaia, Ashburton and Dunsandel were sent to the scene.

    St John says a person with critical injuries has been flown to Christchurch Hospital.

    A fire investigator will visit the scene today.
