    Police say a fatal crash in Christchurch overnight occurred when one vehicle crossed the centre line


    One person died after the crash on Sumner Road about 11pm, and two others were transported to hospital in a status 2 and 3 condition.

    Superintendent Lane Todd says it appears a car collided head-on with an oncoming vehicle.

    He says investigations are continuing.
