The trial of a prominent sportsman is edging closer to an outcome in Dunedin

The trial of a prominent sportsman is edging closer to an outcome in Dunedin

The man's accused of causing 13 rib fractures to an infant in July 2023.

The Crown alleges force was responsible, while the defence argues underlying bone fragility.

A radiologist told the court yesterday, swelling the infant's chest reflected rib fractures, but didn't indicate abuse.

Herald reporter Ben Tomsett says today's expected to be the final day of evidence.

He says the court will hear from two more defence witnesses today, before being put in the hands of the jury.
