One person's died and another person's in a critical condition in hospital, after a late night crash in the central North Island

Three vehicles collided on State Highway 4 south of National Park Village shortly after 11pm.

Four other people received minor injuries.

Another person's also been confirmed dead, after their car went off the road and into Hautapu River on State Highway 1 near Taihape yesterday morning.

Police have removed the car from the river, and have confirmed the driver was the sole occupant in the vehicle.
