    The ghostly appearance of a waving pedestrian spooked an alleged Dunedin drink-driver so much he crashed his car


    The Otago Daily Times reports Police were called to Waverley's Dunrobin Street at 4.30am on Sunday - after a 24-year-old man reversed into a ditch.

    The man told police he saw what he believed to be a ghost waving at him from the roadside, as he drove.

    Police say the ghost turned out to be a pedestrian hoping for a ride.
