A 14-year-old charged with murdering another teen at Dunedin's bus hub says he still has nightmares about the event

16-year-old Enere McLaren-Taana died on Great King Street last May - the boy accused has pleaded not guilty.

He's chosen to testify in his defence and says he felt hazy and dazed during the fatal fight.

He says he thought he swung a knife once - but watching CCTV footage, he realised he was swinging wildly.

The trial is set down for at least another week.
