    Fire crews and Police remain at the scene of a house fire in Porirua this morning


    One person has died, and another is in hospital after the fire at a Lanyon Place property in Whitby.

    A dog also died in the blaze.

    Fire and Emergency says it was called to the scene around 2.30 this morning, and will be carrying out a scene examination today to determine what started the fire.
