A Wellington man's due to reappear in court today, following his involvement with an organised crime group, which allegedly stole 450-million-dollars worth of cryptocurrency

Search warrants were carried out in Auckland, Wellington and California with a total of 13 people facing charges.

The man was granted bail when arrested in May and has been indicted by the US Department of Justice under racketeering laws.

The defendants allegedly scammed seven victims out of the cryptocurrency and spent it on nine-million-dollars of exotic cars, luxury items and rental homes in the US.
