US Open mixed doubles semifinals and final, with Ruud and Swiatek defeating Draper and Pegula

Third seeds Casper Ruud and Iga Swiatek have come from behind in the 10-point tiebreaker to be the first team through to the US Open mixed doubles final at Flushing Meadows.

Defending champions Sara Errani and Andrea Vavassori are through to the final of the US Open mixed doubles, showing their class in a re-imagined format that favoured singles stars.

The Italian duo defeated the American team of Dannielle Collins and Christian Harrison 4-2, 4-2 to advance to the final, which will be played immediately after at Arthur Ashe Stadium.

The defending champions will face third seeds Casper Ruud and Iga Swiatek in the final.

Ruud and Swiatek came from behind in the 10-point tiebreaker to be the first team through to the US Open mixed doubles final at Flushing Meadows.

The Norwegian-Polish duo were down 4-8 in the first to 10 tiebreaker, before reeling off the final six points of the match to defeat top seeds Jack Draper and Jessica Pegula 3-5, 5-3 [10-8].

Singles qualifying washed out as rain persists in New York

Persistent rain in New York on Wednesday, local time, washed out the day's qualification matches for the men's and women's singles draw.

Across 14 matches, six men's and eight women's, none were able to be completed as just 45 minutes of playing time was possible before the downpour.

Australian teen Emerson Jones leads 5-4 in the first set against Brazilian Laura Pigossi.

Fellow Australian Astra Sharma claimed the first set against Victoria Jiménez Kasintseva from Andorra. When play resumes, Sharma will lead 6-2, 2-1.
