Easy weeknight pasta recipes in 30 minutes or less

Get your water boiling. These seven easy pastas can be made in 30 minutes and use a handful of simple ingredients.

Get your water boiling and grab your favourite pasta shape.

Here are seven easy pastas that can be made in 30 minutes or less, all using a few simple ingredients.

Pesto pasta is a weeknight classic and this version uses tomato paste, sun-dried tomatoes and jarred chargrilled capsicums. Blitz together with Parmesan, garlic and pine nuts and you'll have enough pesto to serve between 6-8.

The prep for this simple meal can be done while the water boils for your pasta, with the sauce coming together as the spaghetti cooks. You'll be rewarded with a silky veggie-filled pasta, with lemon juice and fresh herbs stirred through before serving.

You won't need to pre-boil the gnocchi in this easy recipe. Simply sear the chicken, toss in a pack of gnocchi with the remaining ingredients and bake for 20 minutes.

This classic dish is ready in 25 minutes. Whole tinned tomatoes are the base of the simple sauce, with chili, anchovies, olives and capers adding bold flavour quickly. Option to serve with a dollop of fresh ricotta for creaminess.

Make a quick and satisfying meal with a packet of spaghetti, tinned tuna and frozen peas as your base. The spaghetti cooks in a combination of stock and water, which forms the sauce, with lemon, chilli flakes and asparagus adding flavour, heat and crunch. The cook time for this dish is a fast 15 minutes.

This is an excellent meal to make with leftover roast chicken, whether homemade or from the supermarket. Make the sauce while your pasta cooks, by frying some shallots, reheating the shredded chicken before stirring cheese, herbs and pasta to finish.

This cheese and veggie pasta uses a whole packet of fusilli and two heads of broccoli, so you know it will make a decent amount and be good for you, too. Roasted walnuts add crunch, and you can buy them pre-roasted to save on time.
