A French boatie has been rescued in the Southern Ocean with the help of New Zealand authorities

A French boatie has been rescued in the Southern Ocean with the help of New Zealand authorities

11-metre yacht No Comments capsized late Tuesday night, two thousand kilometres east of Dunedin.

An Airforce Orion spotted him on a flyover - before he was forced into a life raft as the yacht sank.

He was rescued from the life raft about 10am by the tanker Lindanger - and is on the way to Chile.

The Rescue Coordination Centre's Keith Allen says the man's well, apart from mild hypothermia.
