    A person has died after riding an e-scooter into a pole on a suburban Christchurch street overnight


    Police and emergency services rushed to the scene of the crash at the intersection of Brougham St and Waltham Rd at around 11 last night.

    A police spokesperson said the rider fell off the scooter after hitting a pole and died at the scene.

    The serious crash unit is investigating.
