The wheels are moving to deliver more travel choices and reduce congestion in Auckland's northwest

The wheels are moving to deliver more travel choices and reduce congestion in Auckland's northwest

Transport Minister Chris Bishop says construction on the Northwest Rapid Transit could begin by 2027.

The plan includes a busway along the North Western Motorway, with a park and ride site and multiple stations.

Bishop says the northwest doesn't have reliable public options.

He says the area's been under-served, with most people travelling to work by car, more than any other area in Auckland.
