    A man's in custody after another man was allegedly shot in Lower Hutt this morning


    Emergency services were called to Hanson Grove in Stokes Valley about 9am after reports of a gun being fired.

    Police have executed a number of search warrants since.

    The 39-year-old victim remains in a critical condition in Wellington Hospital.

    Police will continue to have a visible presence in the area, and want to hear from anyone who can help with information.

    That includes those in or around the Sladden Street area in Naenae, and Poole Street in Taita, who may have CCTV or dashcam footage.
