A 90 minute police pursuit across Auckland has ended in Clendon

A 90 minute police pursuit across Auckland has ended in Clendon

The driver ran from the car with Police dogs and the armed offenders in tow, and was arrested shortly after.

Police were in the New Lynn area responding to reports of suspicious activity when a vehicle suddenly fled.

It failed to stop for Police at the North-Western Motorway just before 3, and was driving erratically, nearly hitting members of the public.

The pursuit was abandoned almost immediately, with the Police Eagle helicopter following the vehicle overhead while the police vehicles responded on the ground - including laying spikes.
