Fire crews remain on the scene of a house fire in Auckland's East Tamaki

Emergency services were called to the blaze at Point View Drive just after 8.30 last evening, which was sending smoke and yellow flames into the night sky.

The blaze was extinguished by about 2am, but three fire crews have remained on the scene through the night to monitor for any hot spots.

One person, who is believed to have been inside the house, has been assessed by St John.
