A derailment in the Auckland suburb of St Johns is disrupting morning commuter services

A derailment in the Auckland suburb of St Johns is disrupting morning commuter services

Three Kiwirail staff were hurt when a locomotive came off the rails just before 1.30 this morning.

One has been treated on site, while two were taken to hospital for observation.

As the engine come off the tracks, it damaged a section of track including a turnout and set of signalling points.

Kiwirail says morning commuter services have been disrupted, and Auckland Transport is arranging bus replacement services for their passengers.
