    Emergency services are standing down after an incident unfolding at Waikato's Springhill Prison

    Emergency services are standing down after an incident unfolding at Waikato's Springhill Prison


    Fire and Emergency was called just before 3:20pm to a building on fire at the facility.

    Four fire trucks, two water tankers, one ladder truck and a command unit are now at the scene.

    Corrections says the incident is has ended.
