The Prime Minister's kicking off her Waitangi itinerary, attending the Iwi Chairs Forum in the Bay of Plenty.

She's told iwi the Wellbeing focus of the Government's Budget - comes from a world view Maori have been pushing for years - and says that's what she told politicians at Davos in Europe.

Ardern says it's taken the Government some time to catch up.
