A promise to deal with gaps between Maori and non-Maori

The Salvation Army has highlighted significant, persistent gaps between Maori and non- Maori - and the author of the State of the Nation report says the Government needs to think radically to eradicate disparities.

Maori Development Minister Nanaia Mahuta says they've only been in Government for a year.

She says the wellbeing budget will do things differently.

Mahuta says making sure Government agencies work together towards aspirations to improve outcomes for Maori, is the fundamental shift that's needed.
