Parts of State Highway Three are being cleared, after flooding and slips, in Taranaki

The stretch between Mokau and Piopio, is expected to re-open with one lane, at 5pm.

The northbound lane through Mount Messenger is open, while the lane southbound continues to be closed following a slip.

State Highway 43 remains closed between Taumaranui and Whanga-momona, as crews continue works on multiple slips this week, with geotechnical experts expected onsite.
