A woman's moderately injured - after being assaulted in her Whangarei home overnight

Detective Senior Sergeant Shane Pilmer says they're trying to track down the person responsible for the attack just after midnight in Raumanga's Murdoch Crescent.

They're asking the public to report any suspicious activity in the area between 4pm and midnight yesterday.

It's believed a vehicle sped from the woman's home after the assault.
