    Three people are in hospital after surf life savers were alerted by screams at Coromandel's Tairua Beach


    Surf Life Saving NZ says a trio called for help just before 6pm yesterday.

    Two were rescued from the water and returned to shore - and a third got themselves out.

    One was flown to hospital and two taken by ambulance.

    It's one week after a boat capsized at the notorious Tairua bar.
