The Independent Police Conduct Authority has investigated a Tauranga officer, over two events

The Independent Police Conduct Authority has investigated a Tauranga officer, over two events

It found he used excessive force for an unlawful arrest in September 2018 when he kneeled on an intoxicated man's head.

He pleaded guilty to injuring with reckless disregard - receiving nine months' supervision and an order to pay 1000 dollars reparation.

And on March 2019, he used excessive force on a 14-year-old, slamming the boy into a window before an arrest.

Crown charges on that case were withdrawn.

The officer resigned last year, before court proceedings concluded and before any employment-related action.
