Waikato have won back-to-back Farah Palmer Cup Premierships

Waikato have won back-to-back Farah Palmer Cup Premierships

They've beaten Canterbury 19-13 in a pulsating rugby final in Hamilton.

There's a key battle for finals spots raging as the regular season of the men's NPC winds down.

Seventh-placed Waikato and visiting Northland are all tied up at 19-19 late on ... the Taniwha are clinging on to the eighth and final playoffs place.

Champions Wellington can't make it now ... they've been dethroned, the Lions failing to roar in the second half as Bay of Plenty came from 21-7 down at halftime to win 33-26 in Porirua.

The Steamers climb up to third ... Otago are top, for now, after ending Auckland's dismal season with a 51-17 road victory.
