The final victim of the Mount Maunganui landslide has been formally identified by the coroner

The final victim of the Mount Maunganui landslide has been formally identified by the coroner

Open Justice reports 71-year-old Jackie Wheeler was on an annual camping trip with her friend Susan Knowles when a slip careened through the campsite at the base of the mount - killing both the Rotorua women.

Ms Knowles family earlier released a touching tribute, saying Susan was a mother, sister, aunty, a loving wife, and known as Granna to her grandchildren,

They've noted the positive impact she's had on many lives, describing her as always being on the go and looking for her next adventure.

Four other people also died in the tragedy.
