    Several fire appliances are responding to a blaze near a Hawke's bay refuse centre


    Fire and Emergency New Zealand, says eleven vehicles initially attended the blaze behind Redclyffe Transfer Station, after receiving a call at 1:45pm.

    A spokesperson says it has contained a grass fire, 10 by 20 meters in size.

    They say four fire trucks and three tankers remain on the scene, and the public are advised to avoid the area.
