Hawke's Bay Police are urging the public to report unlawful use of dirt bikes following two serious incidents in the past month

Hawke's Bay Police are urging the public to report unlawful use of dirt bikes following two serious incidents in the past month

Last week an eight-year-old boy suffered a broken bone after being hit by a dirt bike rider in Flaxmere.

Three weeks earlier a woman was also hit by a dirt bike outside a Hastings cafe.

Senior Sergeant Ross Smith says there are ongoing issues of people of all ages riding dirt bikes illegally on roads, footpaths, and parks.

He says the riders often have little regard for others - and asks witnesses to alert police of any dangerous behaviour.
