A man's due in the Masterton District Court today in relation to the seven suspicious fires that occurred in the Wairarapa town earlier this year

Police believe the six churches and one local business were set alight intentionally in February.

Wairarapa Area Commander Inspector Nick Thom says the fires were upsetting for many people and public co-operation played a pivotal role in the investigation.

The 44-year-old man faces seven charges of arson.
