The man accused of killing Nelson police officer Lyn Fleming has been granted interim name suppression because of family concerns

The man accused of killing Nelson police officer Lyn Fleming has been granted interim name suppression because of family concerns

He's been remanded in custody without a plea on a variety of charges including murder and attempted murder.

The 34-year-old will next appear in court on February 14.

NZME reporter Katrina Bennett says the name suppression will last until at least next Friday.

She says that's because his lawyer wanted time to tell a family member overseas about the defendant's charges.
