    A Frenchman on a working holiday's hoping to avoid a conviction for fighting police officers near Nelson


    Open Justice reports Ulysse Felician did was caught doing a U-turn across traffic on State Highway Six in January.

    He bit two officers after being taken to the ground - and tried to grab a taser from the third.

    He's admitted charges including assault and resisting police - and a drugs charge over cannabis found in his vehicle.

    He's been remanded on bail for a hearing in June.
