Southland Police have had enough of dangerous driving

Southland Police have had enough of dangerous driving

They say they're concerned about reckless and dangerous behaviour from some, including drivers not stopping when signalled.

In 2016, Police amended its policy, empowering officers to decide whether to pursue based on Threat-Exposure-Necessity-Response.

Area Commander Inspector Mike Bowman says fleeing drivers present a high risk to everyone.

He says Southland police are actively ensuring drivers who flee are investigated and put before the court.
