Specialist fire investigators will today head to the scene of a house fire in Queenstown.. that saw emergency crews rescue a person stuck on the balcony

Fire and emergency were called to the blaze on Wynyard Crescent around midnight.

Shift manager Mau Barbara says around 16 firefighters responded from Frankton, Queenstown, Arrowtown, Cromwell and Alexandra.

He says on arrival, they found a well ablaze house and saved a person from the balcony.

The fire hasn't been deemed suspicious.
