Geonet has recorded a 4.2 magnitude earthquake just outside of Queenstown
Geonet has recorded a 4.2 magnitude earthquake just outside of Queenstown
12 July 2025
It shows the quake struck just before 9pm, 30 kilometres west of the town, and 5 kilometres below the surface.
Geonet says it may have also been felt in Milford Sound, Te Anau, and surrounding areas.
