The boss of Dairy NZ is taking his hat off to farmers

Chief executive Tim Mackle says it's been a challenging year for the sector but he says it's tracking well globally, with the industry seen as productive, environmentally friendly and profitable.

Mackle says he's proud of what farmers have achieved this year...but there's still work to do.

He says the sector's on a sustainability journey but it's also important to acknowledge the good work that's already been done.
