Good news for our dairy farmers to start the new year

Good news for our dairy farmers to start the new year

Safeguard duties on milk powder have now lifted -- meaning all dairy exports can now enter China duty free.

Trade and Agriculture Minister Todd McClay says we export about one and a half billion tonnes of dairy products to China each year -- and about half of that, is milk powder.

He says this is a saving for our farmers and our economy of about 350-million dollars a year, for doing nothing more than what they're already doing.
