Both world number one's are through to the fourth round of the Australian tennis Open in Melbourne

Women's top seed Simona Halep's dispatched veteran Venus Williams 6-2, 6-3, while her male opposite Novak Djokovic has needed four sets to beat young Canadian Denis Shapavalov .

Halep will face seven-time champion Serena Williams in the next round after she dealt with Ukraine's Dayana Yastremska in straight sets.

Men's fourth seed Alexander Zverev's eased past young Aussie Alex Bolt in straight sets.
