Kiwi hurdler Portia Bing's glad to have competitors filling the lanes either side of her at the Oceania Invitational this afternoon

Kiwi hurdler Portia Bing's glad to have competitors filling the lanes either side of her at the Oceania Invitational this afternoon

Bing is racing in her first overseas competition in two years on the Gold Coast.

She says other hurdlers will help push her to get under the 55-point-four-zero second mark, which is the standard for automatic Olympic qualification.

Bing's 400-metre hurdles event gets underway at 5:50pm.

Sprinters Eddie Osei-Nketia and Zoe Hobbs, shotputter Maddison-Lee Wesche and discus thrower Connor Bell are also in action.
