    Tom Walsh believes men's world shot put competition is only growing tougher after a disappointing finish at the World Athletics Championships in Budapest


    The Kiwi's missed out on the podium by seven centimetres, placing fourth with a throw of 22.05 metres.

    Walsh says shot put over the last five years has grown immensely.



    American Ryan Crouser's won gold with a throw of 23.51 metres.

    Jacko Gill placed sixth after throwing 21.76.
