    New Zealanders might be absent when the Tour de France rolls out from Brittany this weekend


    George Bennett and Patrick Bevin are bypassing the event to focus on Olympic aspirations.

    Other Kiwi contenders such as Shane Archbold, Dion Smith, Jack Bauer and Sam Bewley are absent so far.

    Tom Scully's EF Education First team is yet to confirm its team.
