The holiday road death toll continues to climb

Seven people have died, with Police confirming the death of a woman in a motorbike crash this afternoon, near Stadium Drive in Albany, on Auckland's North Shore.

Emergency services were called just before 3.30pm.

Eleven people died on the roads during the entire Christmas-New Year holiday road toll period last year.

This year, that period ends at 6 in the morning on January 5.
