    A motorcyclist has died after coming off the road on State Highway 12 at Kaihu, north of Dargaville

    A motorcyclist has died after coming off the road on State Highway 12 at Kaihu, north of Dargaville


    The accident happened around 12.20am and the man died at the scene.

    His passenger has moderate injuries and is in Whangarei Hospital.

    The man's death takes the holiday road toll to 11 - the same for the entire holiday period last year.

    The holiday period ends at 6 on Wednesday morning.
