A park ranger's been assaulted at Wellington's Queen Elizabeth Park, when they left their vehicle to help a potentially injured motorcyclist

A park ranger's been assaulted at Wellington's Queen Elizabeth Park, when they left their vehicle to help a potentially injured motorcyclist

The incident happened in December and the Greater Wellington Regional Council has installed new CCTV cameras in response.

A 32-year-old man was charged in relation to the incident and is due to reappear in court later this month.

Council environment management group manager Al Cross says the ranger was responding to a report of motorbikes illegally riding through the park.
