Porirua's mayor is keen to implement water metering across the region

Porirua's mayor is keen to implement water metering across the region

A business case is being finalised for the move, with new forecasts showing demand for water in Wellington could outstrip supply by 2026.

Anita Baker says metering will help identify leaks and high usage.

She says those with large families or swimming pools are using more, and metering would ensure people pay for what they use.
