Support for improved diversity in DHB governance

Support for improved diversity in DHB governance

Health Minister David Clark's announced 76 new appointments to help get the country's embattled District Health Boards back on firmer financial footing.

It comes as the total DHB deficit across the country continues to climb.

Association of Salaried Medical Specialists executive director Ian Powell says it's positive to see more Maori and women appointed.

He says DHBs are responsible to represent a diverse population - so there should be diversity within governance.
